Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actress known for her roles in the movies Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! The actress began her career in the late 1980s, and rose to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the next film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. In her early years, the Mumbai-born dancer began developing her skills at a young age. At the age of 16 she started acting, and was a victim for a few years because most of her first films were failures. She found fame and became one of the top film actresses. In the aftermath of her wedding ceremony, she took a brief absence from acting prior to returning. She was a key character as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit has been nominated 15 times in the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of these. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Also, she is well acknowledged for her work in the field of charity.
