Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. She first competed at the junior national championships of Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. She took home three golds at her very first contest, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972 for communist bloc countries. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she was the junior all-round champion. In 1975, she took home 4 gold and 1 silver medal in her debut senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete a reverse double salto, which is dismounting from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she began her career in the entertainment field as a performer as a figure skater. Along with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her entertainment career when she was in her teenage years. She began her career as model skater with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performance.
