Jenna Fischer is best known for her role as Pam Beesly on the acclaimed television show The Office, for which she was awarded an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress as well as two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance in the Ensemble Comedy.
Her mother, Anne, was a performer in church theater as a child, which instilled a love for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna was impressed by her mother's church performances at the time she started her journey.
Fischer is an actor with theater training. The Off-Broadway production of Reasons for Being Happy was directed and written by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. Then, she starred in Steve Martin's newest production Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey began a podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since become wildly popular, landing within the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads within the first two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of two books: The Actor's Life and a Survival Guide, in which she recounts her experience to St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actor, as well as the upcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored together with Angela Kinsey) This book provides the story of their greatest friendship and time working on The Office.
